Jan Heying is the principal of Heying & Associates and founded the agency in 1983.  A born strategist, Jan is an award-winning public relations professional with more than 30 years of experience providing effective and creative campaigns for legal, business, education and non-profit clients.

Jan is a frequent lecturer at local civic and charity organizations, universities, State Bar and American Bar Conferences and has authored numerous articles on public relations.  An active member in the community, she has served on the boards of the American Lung Association of San Diego/Imperial Counties, Partnerships in Education and the San Diego Press Club as well as co-chairing the State Bar of California’s Standing Committee on Lawyer Referral and Information Services.

Under Jan’s direction, the firm has won numerous awards including the coveted CAG Gold Award, the most highly recognized design award for San Diego agencies. Other awards received include: San Diego Press Club Excellence in Journalism Awards, Health Marketing Awards, PR Club of San Diego Awards of Excellence, and the LAMMIES (Legal Advertising and Marketing Awards).

Jan holds a Bachelor of Science in journalism with an emphasis in public relations from San Diego State University.  When Jan isn’t coming up with out of the box ideas, she can be found checking out the latest bands and venues or cheering on her Chargers and Lakers.
